With regret, kantoku has noticed the lapse in my journaling. While my accounts are safely recorded elsewhere, my attempts to relate this to him have fallen upon deaf ears. As a result, I'm now engaged in helping the first year students with their fledging and fleeting tennis skills. Naturally, I volunteered the services of my doubles partner as well.

Gakuto is hardly pleased with me. However, he can't deny that it gives him the perfect opportunity to display his tennis skills with abandon. Sadly, he did not make the deadline to enroll in the Country Club's tournament a circumstance that neither of us are wholly pleased with.

Training with Fuji Syuuske has been, let us say, interesting.

He's taken to running ads in the local paper and the press is eating out of his hand. They do full coverage. "Kaitou St. Soleil to Strike Again." "Diamond To be Stolen!" The hawkers on the street are belting them out and the barbershop customers are tipping them big. The pressure cooker is on, and my collar's just starting to collect some steam.

Time to unpack my trusty .35 and give the local HQ a call. I've still got some friends in the district and they're more than willing to foster failure off to a lackey. They've been tracking this guy for two weeks. He's more slippery than a politician and craftier than a fox. It's no surprise he's set his sights on the diamond loaned to the musuem from the Kikumaru estate. The kid's got some gusto.

Unfortunately guts only get you so far.

The week has been routine, thus proving that days are merely transient after all. Between kantoku's yearly drug screening (and subsequently Hyotei's inner politics) and news from my family every bit of dynamism has been scripted and scheduled. This week held nothing interesting that a calendar could not have foretold. In fact, if there were nothing occurring, that absence would make for more of an event.

According to my sister, preparations for the country club's annual tournament are in the works. Currently, they're in the process of choosing charities to benefit from the proceeds. Sign ups should be coming in the weeks that follow. Sometime this month, I'll have to arrange to come home.

It seemed only a matter of time but kantoku has finally requested I acquire an electronic journal. When Kabaji needed to change his posting, it was a clear indicator that this may happen. I admit there is logic behind the decision. It eliminates the need for me to bring my journal to practices and stay after. However, like anything, it is proving to be an adjustment.
